Technology transformation and leadership
On November 21, 2014, I received a HITEC 100 award and participated in the leadership summit in Silicon Valley. I interacted with HP CEO, Meg Whitman, HP CIO, Ramon Baez, Facebook CIO, Tim Campos, Hershey’s CIO, Carlos Amesquita, Symantec CIO, Sheila Jordan, Gartner VP, Jorge Lopez, and others. This is my take from their talks and our conversations.
Never before have we seen as fast a transformation in the technology field as we are seeing now. Every business is now a technology business. The new normal is that the business world is a digital world, blending the physical world with the online world. Technology is transforming the business. Becoming a knowledge company requires a new style of IT. Five major technology drivers are powering and shaping this transformation: cloud, big data, mobility, the Internet of things, and security. We need innovation, we need new technology leadership, we need a mind shift.
